Income Taxes	Income Taxes The provision for income taxes for continuing operations for the three months ended September 29, 2012 reflects an effective tax rate of 38.3 percent compared to 34.6 percent for the same period last year. The increase is due primarily to the research and development tax credit not being extended in 2012.
