Mr. Timothy Johns, a member of the Hawaiian Electric Board of Directors, was an executive officer of Hawaii Medical Service Association (HMSA) in 2011 through June 29, 2017. Ms. Susan Li, an executive of Hawaiian Electric, is the Chair of the Hawaii Dental Service (HDS) Board of Directors. The Company’s HMSA costs and expense (for health insurance premiums, claims plus administration expense and stop-loss insurance coverages) and HDS costs and expense (for dental insurance premiums) and the Utilities’ HMSA costs and expense (for health insurance premiums) and HDS costs and expense (for dental insurance premiums) were as follows:
