Item 8.01 Other Events

On August 26, 2019, Independent Bank Corporation (the “Company”) issued a press release announcing the hiring of Stephen Erickson to serve as the Company’s chief financial officer, commencing February 1, 2020. Beginning on or about September 23, 2019, Mr. Erickson will serve the company as its Executive Vice President and Treasurer and will succeed Robert Shuster as the company’s chief financial officer, following his retirement on January 31, 2020.
