8.  LEASE OBLIGATIONS, OTHER COMMITMENTS, AND CONTINGENCIES

We lease certain warehouse and office facilities and office equipment under non-cancelable operating leases. Rent expense during the first nine months of fiscal 2016 and fiscal 2015 was $1.5 million and $1.3 million, respectively. Our future lease commitments for minimum rentals, including common area maintenance charges and property taxes during the next five years are as follows (in thousands):
