License Fee On December 12, 2005, the Company extended its license agreement for an additional ten years with Novavax, Inc. for a licensing fee paid of $1,000,000. This extension entitles the Company to exclusive use of the Novasome® lipid vesicle encapsulation and certain other technologies in the fields of (i) animal pharmaceuticals, biologicals and other animal health products; (ii) foods, food applications, nutrients and flavorings; (iii) cosmetics, consumer products and dermatological over-the-counter and prescription products (excluding certain topically delivered hormones); (iv) fragrances; and (v) chemicals, including herbicides, insecticides, pesticides, paints and coatings, photographic chemicals and other specialty chemicals, and the processes for making the same through 2015. This payment is being amortized ratably over the ten-year period. The Company recorded amortization expense of $50,000 related to this agreement for each of the six month periods ended June 30, 2011 and 2010.
