(8) Dispositions and acquisitions

Three-month period ended March 31, 2018:

Acquisitions:

During the first quarter of 2018, we paid approximately $21 million to acquire businesses and property consisting primarily of the acquisition of a 109-bed behavioral health care facility located in Gulfport, Mississippi. 

Divestitures:

During the first quarter of 2018, there were no significant divestitures.

Three-month period ended March 31, 2017:

Acquisitions:

During the first quarter of 2017, we paid approximately $18 million to acquire various property assets.

Divestitures:

During the first quarter of 2017, there were no divestitures.
