Item 8.01 Other Events

On May 12, 2010 Wind Energy America Inc. (the “Company”) received $1,131,579.00 from the United States Department of the Treasury for a Section 1603 Payment for Specified Energy Property in Lieu of Tax Credits under Section 1603 of Division B of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009.  This payment was related to the Company’s wholly-owned subsidiary Zachary Ridge, LLC which consists of one Gamesa G-87 2.0 megawatt (MW) wind turbine located in Osceola County, Iowa.  This turbine was commissioned on January 30, 2010.
