Note 6.  Segment Information 

As of January 1, 2016, the Company has one reportable operating segment: Production Monitoring.  During the first quarter of 2015, the Company had two reportable operating segments: Production Monitoring and Investments.  The Production Monitoring Division manufactures and markets a complete line of production monitoring equipment.  ESI Investment Company held investments in marketable and non-marketable securities. 

The accounting policies of the segments are the same as those described in Note 1 of the Notes to Consolidated Financial Statements included in the Company’s Annual Report on Form 10-K for the year ended December 31, 2015.  In evaluating segment performance, management focuses on sales and income before income taxes.  The Company had no inter-segment sales.
