1. Nature of Business	Kingstone Companies, Inc. (referred to herein as "Kingstone" or the “Company”), through its subsidiary Kingstone Insurance Company (“KICO”), underwrites property and casualty insurance to small businesses and individuals exclusively through independent agents and brokers. KICO is a licensed insurance company in the State of New York and the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania; however, KICO writes substantially all of its business in New York. Kingstone, through its subsidiary, Payments, Inc., a licensed premium finance company in the State of New York, receives fees for placing contracts with a third party licensed premium finance company (see Note 19 – Premium Finance Placement Fees).
