Taxes	TAXESIncome taxes were $7 in the first quarter of fiscal 2024 and $98 in 2023, resulting in effective tax rates of 5 percent and 23 percent, respectively. The current year rate included a $57 ($0.10 per share) benefit related to discrete tax items and the impact of inventory step-up amortization, which in total had a 16 percentage point impact on the rate. The prior year rate included a 2 percentage point unfavorable impact related to the Russia charge, which had no related tax benefit.
