NONOPERATING INCOME (EXPENSE)

As described in Note 1 and Note 8, in the first quarter of 2018, the Company adopted ASU No. 2017-07, Compensation—Retirement Benefits (Topic 715): Improving the Presentation of Net Periodic Pension Cost and Net Periodic Postretirement Benefit Cost. The ASU requires the Company to disaggregate the service cost component from the other components of net periodic benefit costs and requires application on a retrospective basis. As such, the other components of net periodic benefit costs included in other income, net for thethree-month periods ended March 30, 2018 and March 31, 2017 were $7.8 million and $6.9 million, respectively.
