(1)      The fair values of the money market funds were based on recently quoted market prices and reported transactions in an active marketplace. Money market funds are included in the Company's unaudited Condensed Consolidated Balance Sheets as "Cash and cash equivalents."

(2)      The contingent earnout liability relates to business acquisitions by the Crawford Loss Adjusting and Crawford TPA Solutions operating segments. The fair value of the contingent earnout liability was estimated based on management’s future expectations of the acquirees achieving the eligible revenue and adjusted EBITDA targets as set forth in the purchase agreements, which is Level 3 data. The maximum possible earnout remaining is $14,000,000. The change in the contingent earnout liability is primarily due to an earnout payment made during the three months ended June 30, 2021. The fair value of the contingent earnout liability is included in "Other accrued liabilities" and "Other noncurrent liabilities" on the Company's unaudited Condensed Consolidated Balance Sheets, based upon the term of each contingent earnout agreement.
