Depreciation expense of $29.1 million in 2017 and $30.1 million in both 2016 and 2015, was included in occupancy expense and equipment expense in the consolidated statements of income. Repairs and maintenance expense of $16.4 million, $16.2 million and $16.3 million for 2017, 2016 and 2015, respectively, was included in occupancy expense and equipment expense. There has been no interest expense capitalized on construction projects in the past three years.
