At March 31, 2017, available-for-sale securities are recorded in other assets on the Condensed Consolidated Balance Sheets, because the Company does not expect to collect or sell all or a portion of its loans in the next twelve months. At September 30, 2016, available-for-sale securities are recorded in short-term investments on the Condensed Consolidated Balance Sheets, because the expected contractual maturity dates were less than one year.
