The available-for-sale securities represent loans to California Proton Treatment Center, LLC (“CPTC”). As of June 27, 2014, of the total amount of $69.4 million of the available-for-sale securities, $60.8 million is included in “Short-term investment” and $8.6 million is included in “Other assets” on the condensed consolidated balance sheet. As of September 27, 2013, the entire amount of available-for-sale securities was included in “Short-term investment” on the condensed consolidated balance sheet.
