(14) Benefit Plans

The Company’s employees are eligible to participate in the Agenus Inc. 401(k) Savings Plan in the United States and a defined contribution Group Personal Pension Plan in the United Kingdom (the “Plans”) for all eligible employees, as defined in the Plans. Participants may contribute a portion of their compensation, subject to a maximum annual amount, as established by the applicable taxing authority. Each participant is fully vested in his or her contributions and related earnings and losses. For the years ended December 31, 2022 and 2021, the Company expensed $131,000 and $86,000, respectively, related to the discretionary contribution to the Plans.
