Team,

When we started Hippo in 2015, we had a clear mission: to reimagine home insurance by bringing the focus back to the homeowner. Our approach to making homes safer and better protected by taking a proactive approach has changed the way our customers live their lives and enjoy their homes. That mission has carried us through to create a product, team and industry opportunity that’s truly amazing. And today, I’m excited to announce the next step in our journey.

Hippo has reached a definitive agreement to merge with Reinvent Technology Partners Z, a special purpose acquisition company (SPAC) that helps build industry leading companies at scale for the long-term. Following the merger, Hippo will become a publicly traded company, an accomplishment that reflects our maturity, proven business model, strong growth and execution to date.

We did not take this decision lightly and we were picky in selecting the right partner. The people at Reinvent Technology Partners Z align with our culture of making the right decisions for the long-term in order to succeed. This agreement is a win for our customers, and when our customers win, Hippo wins. A few things that partnering with Reinvest Technology Partners Z allows us to do:

Access new capital that will accelerate Hippo’s growth and continue driving forward on our products, programs, services and campaigns that bring homeowners peace of mind and the protection they deserve.

Accelerate our path to transforming the home insurance industry by delivering the first all-inclusive insurance and home protection platform.

I want to personally thank each and every one of you for the hard work that pushed Hippo towards this opportunity. While I understand that change can be daunting, I want to be clear that there is still a way to go in this process, so it remains business as usual:

There will be no changes to your day-to-day responsibilities and job titles

There will be no immediate changes to compensation and benefits

You will hear more about our agreement and the path ahead today at our All-Hands at 9:00 AM PST. You can also find more information on our investor site www.investors.hippo.com. If you have any questions in the meantime, please do not hesitate to reach out to your manager.

Once again, thank you for the incredible work that has put Hippo in this exciting position. Congratulations team.

Thank you,

Assaf Wand
