Item 5.02 Departure of Directors or Certain Officers; Election of Directors; Appointment of Certain Officers; Compensatory Arrangements of Certain Officers.

On March 30, 2020, Mr. Ben (Bin) Wang, resigned from his positions as Chairman and member of the Board of Directors (the “Board”) and the Chief Executive Officer of Alberton Acquisition Corporation (the “Company”). On the same day, the Board accepted Mr. Wang’s resignation, effective immediately. In connection with Mr. Wang’s resignation, the Company, Mr. Wang and the sponsor entered into a certain separation and settlement agreement dated March 30, 2020, a copy of which is enclosed hereto as Exhibit 10.1 to this report and incorporated herein by reference.

Upon Mr. Wang’s resignation, on March 30, 2020, the Board appointed Ms. Guan Wang, the treasurer and one of the directors of the Company, as the Chairwoman of the Board and the Chief Executive Officer of the Company to fill the vacancy, effective immediately.

Ms. Guan Wang does not have a family relationship with any director or executive officer of the Company and has not been involved in any transaction with the Company during the past two years that would require disclosure under Item 404(a) of Regulation S-K.
