Basis of Presentation
Basis of Presentation
The accompanying financial statements have been prepared in conformity with accounting principles generally accepted in the United States of America (“U.S. GAAP”). Certain prior year reported amounts have been reclassified to conform with the current period presentation.
The accompanying condensed balance sheet as of March 31, 2022, condensed statements of operations and comprehensive loss, condensed statements of cash flows, and the condensed statements of stockholders’ equity for the three months ended March 31, 2022 and 2021, are unaudited. The balance sheet as of December 31, 2021 was derived from audited financial statements as of and for the year ended December 31, 2021. The unaudited interim financial statements have been prepared on the same basis as the audited annual financial statements as of and for the year ended December 31, 2021, and, in the opinion of management, reflect all adjustments, which include only normal recurring adjustments, necessary for the fair statement of the Company’s financial position as of March 31, 2022, and the results of its operations and its cash flows for the three months ended March 31, 2022 and 2021. The financial data and other information disclosed in these notes related to the three months ended March 31, 2022 and 2021, are also unaudited.
Use of Estimates
Use of Estimates
The preparation of financial statements in conformity with U.S. GAAP requires management to make estimates and assumptions that affect the reported amounts of assets, liabilities, and expenses as well as the disclosure of contingent assets and liabilities as of and during the reporting period. The Company bases its estimates and assumptions on historical experience when available and on various factors that it believes to be reasonable under the circumstances. Significant estimates and assumptions reflected in these financial statements include, but are not limited to stock-based compensation expense and accruals for research and development costs. The Company assesses estimates on an ongoing basis, however, actual results could materially differ from those estimates.
