6.         Accrued Expenses

Accrued expenses consist of the following (in thousands):

Project expenses are primarily from $6.5 million of accrued manufacturing expenses. These expenses are mostly for the manufacture and purchase of drug product for CTX-009 including $5.3 million of minimum contractual obligations.
