NEXA RESUMES ATACOCHA OPEN PIT MINE OPERATION

Luxembourg, January 21, 2021 - Nexa Resources S.A. (“Nexa Resources” or “Nexa” or “Company”) (NYSE and TSX Symbol: “NEXA”) is pleased to inform that the Atacocha mine in Peru has restarted its operations and full production is expected by the end of January.

Illegal protest activities have come to an end and the traffic on the road, which has been temporarily suspended since mid-December, has resumed.

Nexa remains committed to the social development of its host communities and will continue to engage in constructive dialogue with its members. The three-year production guidance published on January 19, 2021 which considered the return of Atacocha’s operations in January, remains unchanged.

Nexa is a large-scale, low-cost integrated zinc producer with over 60 years of experience developing and operating mining and smelting assets in Latin America. Nexa currently owns and operates five long-life underground mines - three located in the Central Andes of Peru and two located in the state of Minas Gerais in Brazil - and is developing the Aripuanã Project as its sixth underground mine in Mato Grosso, Brazil. Nexa also currently owns and operates three smelters, two located in Brazil and one in Peru, Cajamarquilla, which is the largest smelter in the Americas.
