Explanatory Note

On August 5, 2020, Evergy, Inc. (“Evergy”), Evergy Kansas Central, Inc. (“Evergy Kansas Central”) and Evergy Metro, Inc. (“Evergy Metro”) furnished a Current Report on Form 8-K (“Original 8-K”) that, among other things, furnished as Exhibit 99.2 a copy of a press release regarding long-term financial and operating projections (“Projections Release”). Evergy subsequently re-issued the Projections Release with clarifying language regarding an information sharing agreement referenced in the Projections Release. This Form 8-K/A is being furnished solely to furnish the re-issued Projections Release. Except as described in this paragraph and the re-issued Projections Release, no other information, including financial information, was changed in the Original 8-K or the exhibits to the Original 8-K. This Form 8-K/A should be read in conjunction with the Original 8-K.

On August 5, 2020, Evergy issued a press release regarding long-term financial and operating projections. A copy of a revised press release with clarifying language regarding an information sharing agreement is furnished as Exhibit 99.2 and is incorporated herein by reference. Information in the press release attached as Exhibit 99.2 that relates to Evergy Kansas Central and Evergy Metro is also being furnished on behalf of Evergy Kansas Central and Evergy Metro.
