Commitments and Contingencies Commitments and Contingencies
(a)    Purchase Commitments
The Company’s commitments related to purchase of property and equipment contracted but not yet reflected in the consolidated financial statements were $1.2 million as of December 31, 2023 and were expected to be incurred within one year.
(b)    Legal Proceedings
The Company is not currently a party to any material legal proceedings. Each quarter, the Company evaluates whether there have been any developments in legal proceedings that would require an accrual. In accordance with the accounting guidance for contingencies, the Company will accrue for losses that are both probable and reasonably estimable. The Company will record any legal and other third-party costs related to its legal contingencies as incurred.
(c) Indemnifications
In the normal course of business, the Company enters into agreements that indemnify others for certain liabilities that may arise in connection with a transaction or certain events and activities. If the indemnified party were to make a successful claim pursuant to the terms of the indemnification, the Company may be required to reimburse the loss. These indemnifications are generally subject to various restrictions and limitations. The Company’s exposure under these agreements is unknown because it involves claims that may be made against the Company in the future but have not yet
been made. To date, the Company has not paid any claims or been required to defend any action related to its indemnification obligations.
