Organization and Description of Business When used in these notes, Blue Apron Holdings, Inc. and its subsidiaries are collectively referred to as the “Company.” The Company creates original recipes, which are sent along with fresh, high-quality, seasonally inspired ingredients, directly to customers for them to prepare, cook, and enjoy. The Company creates meal experiences around original recipes every week based on what’s in-season with farming partners and other suppliers. Customers can choose which recipes they would like to receive in a given week, and the Company delivers those recipes to their doorsteps along with the pre-portioned ingredients required to cook those recipes. In addition to meals, the Company sells wine through Blue Apron Wine, a direct-to-consumer wine delivery service launched in September 2015. The Company also sells a curated selection of cooking tools, utensils, pantry items, and add-on products for different culinary occasions through Blue Apron Market, an e-commerce market launched in November 2014.
