Item 5.02 Departure of Directors or Certain Officers; Election of Directors; Appointment of Certain Officers; Compensatory Arrangements of Certain Officers.

Item 7.01 Regulation FD Disclosure.

Effective September 24, 2019, the Board of Directors of MainStreet Bancshares, Inc. (the “Company”) appointed Richard A. Vari to the position of Vice President and Chief Accounting Officer. Mr. Vari will serve as the principal accounting officer of the Company.

Mr. Vari, 31, is a certified public accountant with over ten years of experience working with community banks. Since September 2018, he has served as an accounting manager with the Company primarily focusing on financial reporting and analysis. Before joining MainStreet Bancshares, Inc. he spent seven years with Elliott Davis, LLC in their financial institutions practice, most recently as an audit and assurance manager.
