Impairment of equipment under operating leases:

As a result of impairment reviews, management determined that no impairment losses existed for the years ended December 31, 2019 and 2018.

The Company utilizes a straight line depreciation method over the term of the equipment lease for equipment on operating leases currently in its portfolio. Depreciation expense on the Company’s equipment totaled $1.3 million and $1.2 million for the respective years ended December 31, 2019 and 2018. IDC amortization expense related to the Company’s operating leases totaled $59 thousand and $66 thousand for the years ended December 31, 2019 and 2018, respectively.

All of the Company’s lease asset purchases and capital improvements were made during the years from 2016 through 2019.

The average estimated residual value for assets on operating leases was 37% and 38% of the assets’ original cost at December 31, 2019 and 2018, respectively. There were no operating leases in non-accrual status at both December 31, 2019 and 2018.
