Item 5.02 Departure of Directors or Certain Officers; Election of Directors; Appointment of Certain Officers; Compensatory Arrangements of Certain Officers.

National Western Life Insurance Company (“NWLIC”), a wholly owned subsidiary of National Western Life Group, Inc. (the “Company), terminated R. Bruce Wallace, NWLIC’s Senior Vice President and Chief Life Insurance Marketing Officer, on May 17, 2019. Mr. Wallace was a named executive officer in the Company’s most recent Schedule 14A Definitive Proxy Statement filed April 30, 2019.
