Segments

ASC 280 requires use of the management approach for segment reporting. The management approach is based on the way a company’s management organizes segments within the company for making operating decisions and assessing performance. In prior periods, we had operated and managed our business as two reportable segments, AgroFresh Core and AgroFresh Fruit Protection (formerly Tecnidex). Due to changes in senior management, as well as the integration of AgroFresh Fruit Protection with the Company's Core business operational and reporting structure, during the fourth quarter, the Company has determined that it now has one reportable segment as of December 31, 2021. As a result of this change in segment reporting, the Company retrospectively revised prior period results, by segment, to conform to the current period presentation.
