Components of accounts receivable, net are as follows (in thousands):

The provision for bad debt expense was $1.1 million and $0.8 million for the years ended December 31, 2014 and 2013, respectively. There was a benefit for bad debt expense of less than $0.1 million in 2015. Write‑offs of accounts receivable were $1.1 million, $0.2 million and $1.1million for the years ended December 31, 2015, 2014 and 2013, respectively. Recoveries of accounts receivable previously written off during the years ended December 31, 2015 and 2014 amounted to $0.2 million and $0.2 million, respectively and were less than $0.1 million during the year ended December 31, 2013.
