INCOME TAXES

Income tax for the three months ended June 30, 2019 and 2018 was an expense of $0 and a benefit of $8,000, respectively. Income tax for the six months ended June 30, 2019 and 2018 was an expense of $1,000 and benefit of $8,000, respectively. The effective tax rate for the three and six months ended June 30, 2019 and 2018 differed from the statutory rate primarily due to the valuation allowance recorded against the Company’s deferred tax assets.
