The Company is a lessor of medical office buildings and other health care facilities. Leases have expirations from 2022 through 2042. As of September 30, 2022, the future minimum rental payments on non-cancelable leases, exclusive of expense recoveries and minimum rental payments for assets classified as held for sale, if applicable, were as follows (in thousands):

For the three months ended September 30, 2022 and 2021, the Company recognized $127.4 million and $110.3 million, respectively, of rental and other lease-related income related to our operating leases, of which $36.6 million and $29.2 million, respectively, were variable lease payments. For the nine months ended September 30, 2022 and 2021, the Company recognized $381.8 million and $326.0 million, respectively, of rental and other lease-related income related to our operating leases, of which $107.5 million and $84.0 million, respectively, were variable lease payments.
