Note 18 – Employee Benefit Plans

The Company has a 401(k) plan available to all employees who are at least 18 years of age. Employees are able to elect the amount to contribute, not to exceed a maximum amount as determined by Internal Revenue Service regulation. The Company matches 100% of the first 6% of employee contributions.

“Vesting” refers to the rights of ownership to the assets in the 401(k) accounts. Matching contributions as well as employee contributions are fully vested immediately.

The Company contributed $657 thousand and $673 thousand to the 401(k) plan in 2023 and 2022, respectively. These expenses represent the matching contribution by the Company.

The Company, as a result of the Merger, provides a post-retirement benefit for one retired employee. The liability associated with this benefit of $133 thousand as of December 31, 2023 is included in Accrued interest payable and other liabilities on the Consolidated Balance Sheet.
