Note 5. Equity Method Investments

        On November 3, 2016, we acquired a minority interest in a newly formed joint venture with Lionsgate to launch a Spanish-language OTT movie service. The service plans to launch in the fiscal year ending December 31, 2017. The OTT JV had no activity from operations in the year ending December 31, 2016 and the Company did not make any capital contributions to the OTT JV in the fiscal year ending December 31, 2016.

        On November 30, 2016, we, in partnership with Colombian content producers, Radio Television Interamericana S.A., Compania de Medios de Informacion S.A.S and NTC Nacional de Television y Comunicaciones S.A., were awarded a ten (10) year renewable television broadcast concession license for Canal Uno in Colombia. Canal Uno is one of only three national broadcast television licenses in Colombia. The Canal Uno JV is expected to begin operations of the network through a newly formed joint venture vehicle on May 1, 2017. For the year ending December 31, 2016, we accounted for the investment under the equity method.
