Deferred costs and other intangibles, net, consisted of the following as of September 30, 2018, and December 31, 2017 (in thousands):

Amortization expense related to deferred leasing costs, the value of in-place leases, trademark and database was $2.9 million and $2.1 million for the three months ended September 30, 2018 and 2017, respectively, and $7.7 million and $7.2 million for the nine months ended September 30, 2018 and 2017, respectively, which has been included in depreciation and amortization within the condensed consolidated statements of operations. Deferred financing costs that relate to our revolving credit facility are included in deferred costs and other intangibles, net within the condensed consolidated balance sheets. Amortization of deferred financing costs that relate to our revolving credit facility was $0.5 million for each of the three months ended September 30, 2018 and 2017, and $1.5 million and $1.3 million for the nine months ended September 30, 2018 and 2017, respectively, which has been included in gross interest, prior to interest capitalization (see Note 8).
