6. Stockholders’ Equity

Preferred Stock

The Company was authorized to issue 5,000,000 shares of preferred stock with a $0.0001 par value per share as of March 31, 2019 and December 31, 2018. The shares of preferred stock issued and outstanding was nil as of March 31, 2019 and December 31, 2018.

Common Stock

The Company was authorized to issue 75,000,000 shares of common stock with $0.0001 par value per share as of March 31, 2019 and December 31, 2018. As of March 31, 2019, the shares of common stock issued and outstanding were 17,189,863 excluding 129,757 legally issued shares subject to repurchase related to the early exercise of options to purchase common stock. As of December 31, 2018, the shares of common stock issued and outstanding were 17,130,507 excluding 155,257 legally issued shares subject to repurchase related to the early exercise of options to purchase common stock.

The Company has reserved the following number of shares of common stock for future issuances:
