6. Stockholders’ Equity

Preferred Stock

The Company was authorized to issue 5,000,000 shares of preferred stock with a $0.0001 par value per share as of September 30, 2018 and December 31, 2017. The shares of preferred stock issued and outstanding was nil as of September 30, 2018 and December 31, 2017.

Common Stock

The Company was authorized to issue 75,000,000 shares of common stock with $0.0001 par value per share as of September 30, 2018 and December 31, 2017. As of September 30, 2018, the shares of common stock issued and outstanding were 17,074,636 excluding 182,507 legally issued shares subject to repurchase related to the early exercise of options to purchase common stock. As of December 31, 2017, the shares of common stock issued and outstanding were 16,752,171 excluding 289,334 legally issued shares subject to repurchase related to the early exercise of options to purchase common stock.
