Organization and Background	Organization and Background BRT Realty Trust (“BRT” or the “Trust”) is a business trust organized in Massachusetts. BRT (i) owns, operates and develops multi‑family properties and (ii) owns, operates and develops commercial and mixed-use real estate assets. The multi‑family properties are generally acquired with venture partners in transactions in which the Trust contributes 50% to 90% of the equity. BRT conducts its operations to qualify as a real estate investment trust, or REIT, for federal income tax purposes.
