Item 8.01
Other Events.
On July 29, 2013, Wasica Finance GmbH and Bluearc Finance AG filed a lawsuit, Wasica Fin. GmbH (“Wasica”) v. Schrader International Inc. (“Schrader"), Case No. 1:13-cv-01353 with the U.S. District Court in the District of Delaware alleging that Schrader, a subsidiary of Sensata Technologies Holding plc, infringed Wasica’s patent (U.S. Patent No. 5,602,524) with Schrader’s tire pressure monitoring system products. Since the patent in question had expired, the action sought damages for past infringement. The asserted patent is the U.S. counterpart of a German patent that had been previously asserted against Schrader. Schrader succeeded in proving that German patent to be invalid. On February 14, 2020, the federal jury trial related to this lawsuit concluded, and the jury found Schrader liable for damages in the amount of $31.2 million. We continue to deny any wrongdoing, intend to file post-trial motions, and will appeal the decision.
