Approval of Sale of KB Financial Group Inc. Common Shares Held by Kookmin Bank

On December 11, 2008, the board of directors of Kookmin Bank, a wholly-owned
subsidiary of KB Financial Group Inc. (“KB Financial Group”), resolved to
approve the sale of certain common shares of KB Financial Group held by Kookmin
Bank (the “Shares”). Details of the proposed sale are as follows:

• Expected sale amount: up to Won 400 billion

• Expected sale date: December 12, 2008

• Determination of sale price: The Shares will be sold pursuant to a block trade
outside the normal trading hours. The sale price and the number of Shares to be
sold are dependent on the market conditions at the time of the sale.

• Other relevant information: The sale of the Shares is subject to change due to
market conditions.
