Money market funds were valued by the Company using quoted prices in active markets for similar securities, which represent a Level 1 measurement within the fair value hierarchy.

During the three and nine months ended September 30, 2019 and the year ended December 31, 2018, there were no transfers between Level 1 and Level 2. The fair value of Level 2 instruments classified as cash equivalents and marketable debt securities were determined through third-party pricing services.
