Other Comprehensive Income (Loss) and Related Tax Effects OTHER COMPREHENSIVE INCOME (LOSS) AND RELATED TAX EFFECTS

Except in unusual circumstances, we do not recognize tax effects on foreign currency translation adjustments because they are not expected to result in future taxable income or deductions. We have not recognized any tax effects on unrealized gains or losses on available-for-sale securities because such gains or losses would affect the amount of unrealized capital losses for which the related deferred tax asset has been fully offset by a valuation allowance.

Accumulated other comprehensive loss includes net cumulative foreign currency translation losses of $153.8 million and $119.4 million as of June 30, 2018 and December 31, 2017, respectively. Other comprehensive income includes deferred tax benefits for foreign currency translation losses related to assets that were transferred from a foreign subsidiary to a domestic subsidiary of $4.3 million and $7.3 million for the three and six months ended June 30, 2017, respectively.

Reclassifications out of accumulated other comprehensive loss for the three and six months ended June 30, 2018 and 2017 were as follows:
