The Company And Nature Of Operations	(1)The Company and Nature of Operations CAI International, Inc. and its subsidiaries (collectively, CAI or the Company) is a transportation finance and logistics company. The Company purchases equipment, which it leases primarily to container shipping lines, freight forwarders and other transportation companies. The Company also manages equipment for third-party investors. In operating its fleet, the Company leases, re-leases and disposes of equipment and contracts for the repair, repositioning and storage of equipment. The Company’s equipment fleet consists primarily of intermodal marine containers. The Company also owns a fleet of railcars, which it leases in North America. On July 27, 2015, the Company purchased ClearPointt Logistics LLC (ClearPointt), a U.S.-based intermodal logistics company focused on the domestic intermodal market, for approximately $4.1 million. The Company is headquartered in Everett, Washington (see Note 4). The Company’s common stock is traded on the New York Stock Exchange under the symbol “CAI”. The Company’s corporate headquarters are located in San Francisco, California.
