Fair Value Measurements - Effective March 1, 2008, the Fund adopted Financial Accounting Standards Board Statement of Financial Accounting Standards No. 157 (“SFAS 157”), “Fair Value Measurements.” This new accounting statement defines fair value, establishes a framework for measuring fair value in generally accepted accounting principles (“GAAP”), and expands disclosures

about fair value measurements. The three levels of the fair value hierarchy are as follows:

 

·             Level 1 - quoted prices in active markets for identical investments

·             Level 2 - other significant observable inputs (including quoted prices for similar investments, interest rates, prepayment speeds, credit risk, etc.)

·             Level 3 - significant unobservable inputs (including the Funds own assumption in determining the fair value of investments)

 

The inputs or methodology used in valuing securities are not necessarily an indication of the risk associated with investing in those securities.
