Item 7.01 Regulation FD Disclosure.

On June 23, 2018, Zafgen, Inc. (the “Company”) issued a press release announcing new data from its ongoing Phase 2 Proof-of-Concept Trial of ZGN-1061 for Patients with Difficult-to-Control Type 2 Diabetes. A copy of the press release is being furnished as Exhibit 99.1 to this Report on Form 8-K and is incorporated herein by reference.

In addition, on Monday June 25, 2018, the Company will host an investor conference call to discuss ZGN-1061 Phase 2 data results and clinical development plans as well as two nonclinical studies for ZGN-1061, which will be presented as late-breaker abstracts at the American Diabetes Association 78^th Scientific Sessions in Orlando, Florida. A copy of the press release issued as a reminder for the call is being furnished as Exhibit 99.2 to this Report on Form 8-K and is incorporated by reference herein.
