Common Stock and Additional-paid-in capital

        In the three months ended March 31, 2012, the Company's former CEO exercised options to purchase 840,649 shares of common stock, for aggregate consideration of $4,615. The increase in additional paid-in capital includes proceeds in excess of par value from exercises of stock options and stock-based compensation expenses recognized in the Company's earnings.
