Securities Purchased Under Agreements to Resell [Abstract]
Securities Purchased Under Agreements to Resell
Securities Purchased Under Agreements to Resell

The Bank periodically purchases securities under agreements to resell those securities. These amounts are classified as assets in the Statement of Condition. Securities purchased under agreements to resell are held in safekeeping in the name of the Bank by third-party custodians approved by the Bank. Should the market value of the underlying securities decrease below the market value required as collateral, the counterparty has the option to (1) place an equivalent amount of additional securities in safekeeping in the name of the Bank or (2) remit an equivalent amount of cash; otherwise, the dollar value of the resale agreement will be decreased accordingly.
