On March 11, 2021, investment funds managed by affiliates of Apollo Global Management, Inc. (“Apollo”) reported the sale of a substantial portion of their holdings of the common stock of Genco Shipping & Trading Limited (the “Company”).  In light of this, Jason Scheir, a director of the Company affiliated with Apollo, informed the Company on March 12, 2021 that he does not intend to seek re-election to the Company’s Board of Directors at the Company’s 2021 Annual Meeting of Shareholders.
