NOTE 8 – DEPOSITS

The FHLBank offers demand and overnight deposit programs to its members and to other qualifying non-members. In addition, the FHLBank offers short-term deposit programs to members. A member that services mortgage loans may deposit with the FHLBank funds collected in connection with the mortgage loans, pending disbursement of such funds to owners of the mortgage loans. The FHLBank classifies these items as "Non-interest-bearing deposits" on its Statements of Condition. The following table details the types of deposits held by the FHLBank as of June 30, 2011 and December 31, 2010 (in thousands):
