Item 2.02 Results of Operations and Financial Condition.

EXPLANATORY NOTE: This Form 8-K/A amends and restates in its entirety the Form 8-K filed by the Federal Home Loan Bank of Des Moines on November 12, 2008 (the "Initial Filing"). The sole purpose of this amendment is to correct a typograhical error in the exhibit to the Initial Filing. The exhibit has been revised to change the date in the far right-hand column of the "Operating Results and Performance Ratios" table to September 30, 2007.


On November 12, 2008 the Federal Home Loan Bank of Des Moines (the "Bank") issued a news release to report its financial results for the three month period ended September 30, 2008, and a declaration of a cash dividend at an annualized rate of 3.00%. A copy of the news release is attached as Exhibit 99.1 to this report.
