Nature of Operations [Text Block]	NOTE 1 - ORGANIZATION AND DESCRIPTION OF BUSINESS JayHawk Energy, Inc. (the Company or JayHawk) and its wholly owned subsidiary, Jayhawk Gas Transportation Company, are engaged in the acquisition, exploration, development, production and sale of natural gas, crude oil and natural gas liquids primarily from conventional reservoirs within North America. The Company incorporated in Colorado on April 5, 2004 as Bella Trading Company, Inc. During the third quarter ending June 30, 2007, the Company changed management and entered the oil and gas business, and ceased all activity in retail jewelry. On June 21, 2007, the Company changed its name to JayHawk Energy, Inc. Since then, the Company has devoted its efforts principally to the raising of capital, organizational infrastructure development, the acquisition of oil and gas properties and exploration activities. To date, the Company has acquired three properties, the Uniontown in Kansas, the Crosby in North Dakota, and Girard in Kansas. The Company also formed a wholly owned subsidiary to transport natural gas in Kansas called JayHawk Gas Transportation Corporation.
